Matt Kunkel's Bearhawk Build Log

April EAA Chapter 732 Meeting

Stacey and I attended the April meeting for our local EAA Chapter #732.  The meeting was in Neosho, Missouri where we had a project review of two nice looking Zenith 650's under construction.  Shayne and Phillis McDaniel are nearing the flying stages on their project and recently had it painted by a local auto shop which did an excellent job on the plane.  The coat was extremely smooth and I noticed no painted hardware or any other items a non-aviation shop might have trouble with.  They have built before so the workmanship is  quite good and the plane has gone together fast.  Brenda Smith is getting back to her project after a break for a few months but has made quick progress since starting the kit in Summer '09.  She is also doing very nice work.  We had a great turnout of folks, nice flying weather, and plenty of food.

If anyone in the area (NW AR, SW MO, NE OK, or SE KS) is interested in building a plane, learning to fly, or meeting other pilots; EAA 732 has quite a lot to offer.   We meet on the 3rd Sunday of the month and programs range from social get-togethers to technical project reviews.  We also have several flying events throughout the year.  I'd encourage all aviation enthusiasts to visit a meeting of an EAA Chapter in your area. If that chapter happens to be 732, guests are always welcome and shoot me an email if you want to know someone prior to going.  I'll help introduce you to people.
